Knox Community Planning Alliance Sign-In

Last updated: October 3, 2026

Knox Community Planning Alliance Sign-In is the sign-in service of Knox Community Planning Alliance, at auth.kcpa.us. It lets KCPA members, volunteers and board members sign in to KCPA’s online services with one account, using a password or, if they prefer, their existing Google or Microsoft account, instead of a separate password for each service.

What it does

When you open one of the services below, it sends you to auth.kcpa.us to sign in. Once you are signed in, you can use the services you have been given access to without signing in again.

  • Website editing (www.kcpa.us): the site’s editing area, used by the people who keep the site up to date.
  • Discussion lists (lists.kcpa.us): KCPA’s community discussion lists, where members can read and post on the web as well as by email.

Accounts are set up by KCPA for the people who need them. Signing in with Google or Microsoft does not create an account: it only works for someone who already has one with KCPA.

Why it asks Google or Microsoft for information

If you choose “Sign in with Google” or “Sign in with Microsoft”, we ask that provider only for your name, email address and a unique account identifier (the “openid”, “email” and “profile” permissions; the profile permission can also include a link to your profile picture, which we do not use; Microsoft may list this basic profile access as “Sign you in and read your profile”, or “User.Read”). We use them only to recognise you and match you to the account you already have with KCPA. The provider also gives our sign-in service a sign-in (access) token, and sometimes a refresh token. It allows only the same basic profile access; we do not use it after you are signed in, and it is kept with the link between your accounts until that link is removed.

We do not ask for access to your Gmail or other email, Google Drive or OneDrive files, contacts, calendar or anything else in your Google or Microsoft account, and we never see your Google or Microsoft password. We do not sell or share this information. Our privacy policy explains how it is stored, how long we keep it, and how to remove our access.

Knox Community Planning Alliance Sign-In is provided for KCPA by East Tennessee Farmland Consulting LLC, so that name may appear as the publisher when you sign in with Microsoft.
